Engaged EncounterEngaged Encounter is a weekend away from everything for couples entering their first and only marriage. It provides time for them to plan their own marriage. It is designed to give couples the time to communicate honestly and intensely about their prospective lives together - their strengths and weaknesses, ambitions, goals, their attitudes about money, sex, children and their roles in society. It is a measured program of married communication which builds know-how and confidence. It is very low key with the emphasis on quiet and relaxation. There are no group dynamics and no group discussion. Engaged Encounter fulfills the pre-marriage preparation requirement for the Archdiocese of Detroit.
